Summer Fun

We had such a great time while Andrew and Shawna were here. Paul was on vacation too! We stayed close to home most of their time here, but there was no shortage of fun although there was a shortage of sleep since we stayed up way too late most nights. Well worth it! It was hard to see them go. Back to reality; that being getting ready for the new school year.

The two photos below are from our double date night. We went out to dinner where Shawna and I learned about a tasty little drink called a Malibu Breeze and Paul and Andrew discovered a new beer called "Summer Shandy." After dinner we headed to the "Dome" for the Twins game. What a great time.

Last Friday was their last full day here, so we decided to head up to my parent's cabin; unfortunately Paul had to go back to work, so he couldn't join us. I forget how much I relax when I am at the cabin. It was so beautiful and the weather was perfect. The kids had a great time in the water. Gabriella got in before we could even get her suit on. There were some naked fisher girl photos taken, but I figured those would be better if saved for later like mayber her teenage years.

Andrew figured it has probably been at least 15 years since he has been to the cabin in the summer because of playing baseball. It was so nice to have him in MN for summer events.

This Tuesday we met up with Kristina and the kids for a little fun. We had a great time at the beach and then did a little fishing. What a sight we must have been... 2 moms + 10 kids+ 1 small dock= HECTIC ( I mean fun). I'm not really sure how no one fell in, but thankfully no one did. The kids did catch a lot of fish; some even caught with just a net. There were so many fish we could barely keep bait on the hooks. I'm surprised that I still knew how to take a hook out let alone with a toddler attached to my leg and a baby on hip; I guess I still got it.

Thursday was back to the beach; for those who know me well you will know what an accomplishment this it for me. This time we brought along the Morgans. Even being down 2 of Kristina's kids, we had 17 children ranging from 4 weeks to 16 years old (5 of them were 2 and under); yes that's right 3 moms:17 children. Talk about being out numbered.

Lucy and George were all about the watermelon.

We caught a serious girl talk between Gabriella and Mary.

George finally gave in and fell asleep. Rosie on the other hand had no problem sleeping through the festivities. We tease that maybe they will get married someday, so who could resist the photo opportunity?
