A sad day for Cecilia and a tough night for Daddy

All of Cecilia's pacifiers mysteriously broke yesterday. Am I terrible for catching it all on film? It was my coping strategy.

This is the moment her playful face turned to panic as she saw her beloved "pacies."
And the first one gets chucked across the kitchen floor.

To her dismay, yes, they were all broke.

She stopped to eat and collect herself.
Then, she walked over to them and calmly said, "Bwoke,"trying not to cry. I asked her if she wanted to throw them away, and she said yes. So, she gathered them all up and headed to the trash.

She went back several times just to make sure they were really in there.
Not sure she believes me that she is a big girl now.
Now for some comic relief, so you don't think I'm all terrible.

Finally, a birthday celebration for Cecilia

Thursday was such a busy day that we decided we would celebrate Cecilia's birthday late; last night we had a birthday dinner of ribs, presents, cake, and fun celebrating our special Little Miss Cecilia. She is such a special little person; she has brought a lot of joy, silliness, and music to our home.

 She sees her cake coming.
Still not a fan of the singing.

We love you so much Cecilia. May the Lord bless you and keep you all the days of your life.

Ahh chocolate, a girl's best friend

So George got into the baking cupboard again and decided to dump out the chocolate chips for all the graze upon at their leisure. Cecilia however is the only one not able to reach without some creativity and a little danger; she's is more than up to the challenge. Don't get in the way of a girl and her chocolate.

Our Baby Is One

One year ago, our family was blessed with Cecilia Louise. It's hard to believe a whole year has gone by. She is an amazing addition to our family and has stolen all our hearts. We love you Chi Chi Lou. I'll post throughout the day with pictures of our birthday princess.

Today was ferociously busy, and we were not home all at the same time until late. Needless to say, Cecilia crashed and her cakes wait for her to devour them tomorrow.

She did wake up for a short time and had a bottle and some cuddle time with her daddy.

Blessed Mother, today we honor you and your Immaculate Conception. May you always guard and guide our precious Cecilia Louise

Cecilia... You're Breaking Our Hearts

Ok, so a mother should never compare her children, but it is impossible not to notice how they are each a little different. Cecilia is by far our most social baby, and thankfully she was born into the right family because she has almost unlimited attention and admiration from her siblings. Lest you think that she is always happy and sweet, she also has a temper and is not afraid to show it. I'm beginning to really think that it is impossible for a child from my gene pool to not have a bit of a temper. Hey, my persistence, fortitude, and courage have gotten me far, so I trust they will turn out fine. She is crawling everywhere, climbing up on everything, walking along furniture, and beginning to let go to stand on her own. I'm not really ready for her to be a walker, but I'm thinking it is inevitable that it will be sooner than later; she has the look in her eye, and you can tell she is just trying to figure things out. We are really enjoying her. The kids are now calling her "Chi Chi Lou." It's a combination they cam up with, and she seems to love it. She just lights up when she hears someone call for her. Ohhh what a bundle of love she is.

Our little overachiever's 5 months old

So the other day, Elizabeth wanted to see if Cecilia could sit up. To our surprise she did pretty well. She's obviously still a little tippy, but she is our earliest sitter. I'm really not interested in her rushing things, but I think she might have other ideas.

Little Miss Cecilia likes food

Cecilia is showing a lot of interest in food, so today I gave her some of her own. She liked it as you can see.
