Sorry, June is a busy month, and I'm also on a mission to clean and organize the house, so I've been a little exhausted. Here are some highlights.
Andrew, Shawna, and their dog Rally came to see us Memorial weekend. The kids had so much fun having a dog around, and Paul and I got a chance to go out on a double date to see the Twins play in their new stadium. We of course stayed up way too late talking, but it was fantastic to have them here.
The girls had their first piano recital. They both practiced so hard and performed beautifully. We are so proud of both girls. They even played a duet together which definitely warmed this mama's heart.
Cecilia is a musician in the making.
For some reason, Elizabeth really wants to mow the lawn; literally begging. So, Paul gave her shot. She did a pretty good job and has done it at least twice now. Paul teased her that she's finally earning her keep around here. She just laughed sheepishly.
Cecilia and I traveled to Missouri for a weekend of R&R. Unfortunately, our truck broke down and kept us there two extra days and cost us several hundred dollars. It's a weekend we won't forget for sure. Rally is a great dog, and he and Cecilia became quick friends. It was pretty cute. The kids were pretty happy to see us when we returned. Elizabeth seems to be following in my footsteps and made me a cake.
Paul had a birthday. I had fun making him this cake; he had fun eating it. We love you sweetheart!
My sister Michelle turned 50 on the first of July. She didn't want a party, so we decided to surprise her when she returned from her birthday dinner with her husband and boys. Despite a few glitches, we pulled off a surprise and had a nice time making her feel special. We love Auntie Shelley.
In June, we also remeber our third angel baby Max. June 23rd, 2004 was my 8 week ultrasound, and just like the one in June and then in Novemeber 2003 (Catherine) the dr could find no heartbeat. I could hardly believe that history was repeating itself yet again. This time I was angry, I just couldn't believe God would allow this again. We opted not to go the D&C route, and instead headed out of town to Duluth after the final ultrasound confirmed the baby had died on July 2nd. I remember watching the fire works from our hotel room; so hard to celebrate when our hearts were breaking yet again. We are so greatful that we now have 6 beautiful children to celebrate the fruits of our faith, hope, and trust in God.
Jesus, We Trust in You
