Thankfully Gabriella is well on her way to health, and is back to old self of demanding pudding and pop tarts. As for the rest of us... Yesterday, I started to feel strange and thought maybe it was just a reaction to taking my vitamins on an empty stomach. I told Paul I needed to lay down for a few minutes, but a few minutes turned into several hours, and I could hardly move the pain in my back was so intense. I drug myself out of bed while Paul took Pauly to vision therapy. He returned from that only to very intensely complain that his ear hurt. So off to Urgent Care Pauly and I went. I figured staying home alone with the other kids was worse than dragging myself out. After a very hefty wait the dr said yes he had an ear infection. The dr gave me the option to just let it run its course, to which I replied not a chance. Pauly has no tolerance for pain, and I have very little tolerance for his intolerance these days if you catch my drift.
Paul sent me to bed with the kids which really tells you I wasn't feeling well, but unfortunately the night as many of the nights over the last week did not go so smoothly. At one point I looked at Paul and asked him if he'd slept yet to which he replied he hadn't. With a lot of love and empathy for my husband, I drug my stiff body out of bed and proceeded to try and get George to sleep for the next couple hours. Gabriella had a few night terrors thrown into the mix. I think we got 3 solid hours. I knew it was probably time to get George in- kinda wished I had got with my instinct to take him when I took Pauly, but not to worry Elizabeth spiked a fever again and came down with some pretty bad body aches, so back to Urgent Care we went tonight. George has an ear infection and Elizabeth has pneumonia again. She got both antibiotics and steroids- the Lord is merciful.
The dr and I discussed Elizabeth's cough- the intensity and persistence of it, and she really thinks it might be asthma. Apparently asthma can be induced by a virus, and she said it is part of the logical pattern since she already has allergies and eczema. She is due for a good check up anyway, and we will most likely be taking her back to see the allergy and asthma specialist. At this point, I would be relieved for someone to finally help her. She is such a trooper, but today she was pretty discouraged. Thankfully, the steroids are working wonders and she is very peacefully sleeping right now.
On a positive note, Pauly finished up his Occupational Therapy and Speech today. He really made great strides there, and it was time for him to graduate. He was a little sad about the thought of being done, but I told him that they will be there for him if he starts having trouble again to which he responded, "We'll maybe I should start having more trouble." He will still be getting speech at school and he gets about 15 minutes each day of OT type stuff, so hopefully he will continue to progress. His vision therapist says that she is also really seeing great improvements. All good things to hear.
We would love and welcome any prayers you'd like to send our way. Hoping you are well.
