We got the official diagnosis of Autistic Disorder for Pauly yesterday afternoon. It took me by surprise a little as I was prepared for the diagnosis of Apsergers and for whatever reason this feels different to wrap my mind around. We're relieved to have some definite answers, but yet there is still the adjustment to the label and wondering what life will bring for him and us. There's just lots of emotions, phone calls to be made and things to learn, but all in time. Today, I'm just going to love on him and see him for the precious and unique gift that he is. We're really looking forward to all the doors that can now be opened up for him and for the whole family.
Please pray for us as we embark on this next phase of the journey, and please educate yourselves on autism. Pauly needs your continued acceptance, love and support as do Paul and I. The Autism Society of MN website is http://www.ausm.org/.
Jesus I trust in You. I know that You have great plans for Pauly and our family. Please give us the courage, strength, patience and fortitude to live out Your will for us.
