Last night, I found the cord for the camera and finally sat down to update the blog. For whatever reason instead of just uploading the last few photos, the camera wanted to upload the last 500. Frustrating! I'm sure someone more techie than me could figure out how to still do it but not me. I guess it's time for me to actually develop the pictures, so I can delete them from the camera- maybe tomorrow- then I can get some pictures up. So, for now you'll have to settle for some verbal updates.
Easter was great. The girls and I went to Holy Thursday Mass to start the Triduum. They had lots of questions, but it was beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes watching the priest wash people's feet. What a reminder to humble ourselves and be in service to others.
Friday, I took all the kids to noon service. Soo moving and to be honest pretty exhausting since the two littlest weren't all that thrilled to be couped up for that long. I was lucky enough to get a good please earth swallow me now moment as the priest was processing in with the cross. I looked down at my sweet Gabriella to find her digging for gold, so I gently swiped her hand away and gave her a look that this wasn't the time to which she emphatically informed me and the whole church that she had a bugger, and not just a bugger but a big bugger- "get the bugger mom, me got big bugger." I have been told that just like it takes a lot of lemons to make lemonade, it takes a lot of humiliating moments to make a humble heart.
Saturday, we got ready for our Easter celebration with Laura and her family. We planned a big egg hunt for all the kids. Paul hid nearly 150 eggs outside and inside; it takes a lot of eggs when there's 14 kids. They had a blast, and we parents had fun watching the excitement and the teamwork to find all the eggs. We broke out the grill for the first time of the season for some of Paul's tasty burgers. We had a great night.
Sunday was packed, but a great day. We got up early, so we would get to Mass early. The kids got up and found their baskets, but were a bit confused because there was one extra basket this year, a basket for the new baby. Easter not only brought us the joy of the Resurrection, but it brought us the joy of new life. It will be a December baby; how cool is that to find out on Easter that you're going to have a new little one to celebrate Christmas.
We had a lot of fun sharing the news with family. After Mass, we headed to see Paul's parents and shared the good news with them and one of Paul's sisters who popped over while we were there. We told my family later that day during our dinner together. Some might think that it gets a little old to find out another baby is on the way, but to the contrary Paul and I are jumping out of our skin excited. We feel just about as giddy as when we found out for the first time that we were going to be parents. Thankfully, the Lord puts no capacity on the heart for how much it can love- it just keeps expanding. We feel so honored and blessed that the Lord is allowing us to bring another soul into the world for Him. Please join us in praying for this new little one.
